Happy with the product
This was my first time shopping with 1A and I am very happy with the outcome. Car: 2018 Ford Explorer EXT Issue: side passenger mirror shattered. I was skeptical buying this part as I had never used the company before and wasnt sure if the aftermarket part would fit and work correctly. The car has BLIS (Blind Spot Info System) the indicator on mirror lights up when car is in blind spot. Now, the indicator still lit up on shattered mirror and I could adjust the mirror from the driver side controls, so knew motor/electronics worked. The plastic housing was cracked and the seems separated at the base, so unable to fold mirror in (note mirror folds in manually, not automatically). not being able to fold mirror is not a big deal for me. Ford quoted me $800-900 to replace the entire housing. Firestone $700-750 but said if I could just buy the mirror I could try to do that. So for $50 bucks, it made sense to give it a shot. Saved $700+ .. am happy.
Looks nice can't figure out why the sensor stays lit..
This worked exactly as expected and as per the video, unlike the Amazon POS that I tried first before finding this one. The Amazon one was just $2.00 less but was a mess and did not include the backing plate. That backing plate made the install less than minute once the old mirror was off.
The mayor is adequately and appropriately working fine the only problem I had with it was that light that signals the sensor for oncoming traffic blinks sometimes it does not glow as the OEM version but is good as.
Fit perfectly Im a regular mechanic and will say even someone with minimal expertise should be able to replace the glass without issue and worst case Im sure the awesome folks at 1A auto would be able to walk you thru it
Hello, Yes this is just the mirror glass and would need to be installed on your existing mirror assembly. Mirrors should be replaced in an "option for option" fashion. If your mirrors do not have the same options that are listed in our listing, there is a possibility that this mirror may not function properly.
