Hi, I'm Mike Green. I'm one of the owners of 1A Auto. I want to help you save time and money repairing or maintaining your vehicle. I'm going to use my 20-plus years experience restoring and repairing cars and trucks like this to show you the correct way to install parts from 1AAuto.com. The right parts, installed correctly; that's going to save you time and money. Thank you and enjoy the video.
In this video, we'll be installing the air temperature door actuator on this 2001 Taurus. The only tool you'll need is an 8 mm socket and ratchet.
If you open your glove box, then you take these little ears and then kind of force them in, and your glove box will come down. Looking through the glove box and this white box here, that's your air door actuator. I actually have here it is, out of the car. This is my new one. You can see that it has four different points, that it's mounted. You can see this one is right up here, easy to get to, so I'll take that one off first. The other ones you get to from the bottom.
Now, looking at it from the driver's side, and see there's the gas pedal. Then up underneath, there's your controller. You can see here's your two bolts the other one. You'll also want to remove this bolt here on this metal bracket. The harness, you just push a little tab right here and pull pretty good, and it comes out. Once your bolts are all out and that plate is off, pull it right out, and you notice watch this, it'll fall down as I pull this out. There's your controller out.
Now with the controller out, it's easy enough. You can reconnect it. Turn on your key. If you turn your key on to the on position, what I'm doing is I'm turning the temperature button. As you turn the temperature button, your controller will move. You can see this one is in fine shape.
We'll disconnect it. We'll connect the new one, the 1A Auto. Actually, when you connect it, it'll usually find a different position. You can see the one from 1A Auto works just fine, but since the original one is in good shape, I'm going to put it back up in. This is the shaft, and it goes into this, right here. It looks like it's actually in the right position, so it will go right in. It goes in, and then you turn it up and put it into place. Once you have it in place, you can just start your bolts in. Finish putting them in and tighten them up.
We hope this helps you out. Brought to you by www.1AAuto.com, your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the internet. Please feel free to call us toll-free, 888-844-3393. We're the company that's here for you on the internet and in person.

Great price. Exact fit. And free freak' delivery. The only way this would have been better is if the guy in the convertible installed it.
