Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to service the bulbs as well as replace the entire taillight assembly on this 2003 GMC Envoy XL. It's the same part and similar process on the regular Envoys made after 2002. We show you on the passenger's side, but the driver's side is the same procedure. The items you need include new taillights from 1AAuto.com and a Phillips screwdriver.
Start off by opening your lift gate and removing these two Phillips screws on the inside of the taillight. Pull the taillight out, tilt it back, and then you just want to push the tab on this harness and disconnect it.
Now, to remove the circuit board, to get to the bulbs you just need to remove these three Phillips screws. To service the bulbs, just pull the plate out and then you can just pull the bulb straight out and push your new bulb into place. These two are the same process.
Now, you just push the circuit board back into your taillight, replace those three Phillips screws, and tighten them up.
Now, if you're looking to replace the entire taillight assembly. On the right is the old taillight; on the left is the new taillight from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical, and will fit exactly the same. The only thing you have to do is swap over this plate. Just push in the tabs on the plate, pull it off, and then push it into place on your new taillight.
You can see there's two holes right here and they should have clips in them. One of them does, one of them is missing. Sometimes they come out with the taillight, so just pull them off that pin on the taillight and push the clip back into place. Then line up these two pins, and you're going to push them into those holes.
First reconnect your harness, and then push the taillight back into place. Then replace those two Phillips screws. You're all set.

This was my first order with 1A Auto and it was outstanding both in price and I had the light in 4 days AND NO SHIPPING CHARGE. They even had a video on my exact car to show how to install and remove the old one....can't ask for anything more than that and I will ALWAYS use 1A Auto from here on out.
