Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to service the bulb as well as replace the entire reverse light assembly on this 2003 GMC Envoy XL. It's the same part and similar process on the regular Envoys made after 2002. We show you on the passenger's side, but the driver's side is the same procedure. The only items you'll need for this include a new reverse light from 1AAuto.com, and a 10mm socket and ratchet.
Reach up behind the reverse light and twist out the socket counterclockwise to remove it. To service the bulb, you just pull the old bulb out and push the new bulb in.
Now, to remove the assembly, remove these two 10mm nuts. We'll fast-forward as Mike does that.
On the left is the old reverse light; on the right is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical, and they'll fit exactly the same.
If your studs stick in there, and we see one stayed there, it's a good idea to take the studs out of your new light. Then put your new light up in there, line it up on there, and then just tighten it right back up.
Now, just take your socket and twist it clockwise back into place to lock it in, and you're all set.

The light is perfect but I could have used nuts on the mounting bolts. It's a metric nut. I had to drill the old nut to remove the old bolt.
