Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks!
In this video, we're going to show you ignition coil replacement. This is a 2003 Honda Civic. It has a 1.7-liter, and this is similar procedure for Hondas and Acuras with the 1.7-liter as well as the 3.5-liter. Items you'll need include new ignition coils from 1AAuto.com, flat blade screwdriver, 10mm socket and ratchet, also a 10mm wrench will work.
Open the hood and pull the lever right here. Underneath there's a safety latch. Lift it up. Pick up and put the prop rod in place. Your ignition coils are located right on the top of the engine here: one, two, three, and four. Flat blade screwdriver to remove the cover. 10mm socket or a wrench would work as well to remove the nut that holds the coil in place. Take out the tab on the harness connection, press down and pull, disconnect, pull it up and out. We'll do the same thing for the other three.
Here you can see the old parts from the vehicle. New coils from 1A Auto, they're exactly the same, connector is the same, has the seal too. We're going to install and function just like the originals. To install, push them down in, you want to just put the connector on them. Down, push hard, 10mm nuts back on. Tighten. Don't want to go too tight. Get your cover and you're all set.
Thanks for tuning in. We hope this video helped you out. Next time you need parts for your car, please visit 1AAuto.com. Also check out our other helpful how-to and diagnosis videos.

I received the parts in a few days in good condition. They seem to be high-quality and work just fine. They were $60 cheaper than that local auto store wanted for the same thing.

I purchased this set for my Honda and installed them along with new plugs I got from an auto zone near me. Three days later I had to take the car to the mechanic for continue stalling. The diagnosis was two bad coils and a cracked spark plug. It cost an additional $460 to get me car fixed. I gave this a star because I was able to get a refund for the faulty parts. I wouldnt recommend buying these coils but I do commend the excellent customer service they have.

My CR-V was running rough and I discovered we were over due for plugs. I like to replace coils with plugs and so 4 of these hit the cart at 1A. Arrived packaged well and met/exceeded the OEM coils I pulled out. Having the quick video to get me the torque specs on the coil bolts and plugs was very helpful. CR-V runs smooth and has all the power back!

Perfect fit and easy to install. BUT...weak little yellow arc. This is fine, I suppose, if you live in a year-round warm climate where you won't notice the difference. Cost me far more to troubleshoot because it can't be the coils, they're NEW, right? But if you live where it gets below, say 15 degrees F, you'll suddenly find your car won't start on those cold winter mornings and now you're late for work because you have to jump it...and how will you get home after work when it's still cold and the car won't start after sitting in the parking lot all shift? I'd call these cheap junk that make your car unreliable. Won't purchase again.
