I probably could have gotten by with a new brush set for the original alternator, about $15, but this alternator is all new and at a really good price.
I really like 1A's repair videos. I watched the one for replacing this alternator. I think it really needs a note added to it though. In the video the technician removes the radiator fan assembly. It's a replacement assembly in the video and on the stock fan assembly from the factory there is a wire and connectors attached to the bottom of the fan assembly in two places, not visible from above. If you just try to pull the assembly out the top without disconnecting this wire you can damage it. It appears to go to the AC compressor. It would be really bad to damage the AC compressor while replacing the alternator.
