My truck would just die for no reason. I took my truck to get it repaired and he kept it a week and it would not fail.I brought it home and it wasn't long it quit again,so i replaced the ignition control module and it has been working great for about a month

What's the purpose for ignition control module?

It regulates the proper firing of your spark plugs by sending the correct electrical impulses to your distributor and solenoid. If youre vehicle drives well for a while and then shuts off on its own accord, it could mean you need to replace your ignition control module (especially if its 15-20 years old). Ive had my 1976 Ford Bronco since 1983. Ive replaced it twice.

I have a 76 Ford Bronco and have gone through at least six ignitions modules over the past 41 years. Sometimes theyll last 4-5 years with no problems and but Ive also had a couple last barely a year before going out. I cant explain it. I try and purchase the highest rated brands but their longevity still varies. Luckily theyre easy to replace and not too expensive so I started keeping a spare in my Broncos tool box. Thats my only recommendation. Good luck.
