In this video, we're going to be working with our 2006 Chrysler 300. We're going to show you how to remove and replace the windshield mounted rear view mirror. If you like this video, please click "subscribe." We have a ton more information on this car, as well as many other makes and models. If you need this part for your vehicle, you can follow the link down in the description over to 1AAuto.com. Here are the items you'll need for this repair.
Using the T15 Tor - either a screwdriver like we have here, or you could use a socket ratchet and extension - loosen up the screw at the bottom of the mirror. Make sure you keep a hand on there while you're doing this. You don't have to remove it all the way, just loosen it up a couple of turns until it slides off of that bracket on the glass.
Here we have our old mirror that we removed from our vehicle and our new part from 1AAuto.com. As you can see, these parts are exactly the same. They have the same profile and the same glass shape. The back has the same hanger. We have the little dimmer at the bottom here, and we also have a new T15 screw.
These mirrors can get broken off for a variety of reasons. These mirrors can also become faded over time and get kind of a brownish color to the glass which makes it difficult to see what's going on behind you. Fortunately, they're very easy to replace and will restore safety and function to your vehicle. These fit just like our original equipment and they'll fix you up right.
Slide the mirror back onto the tab. You may have to loosen the screw a little bit when you get it out of the box. We'll tighten it back down with our T15. It really doesn't take a lot of tension, so just get it down until it holds the mirror in place. Adjust it to where you like it and you're good to go.
