Didn't lower the valve rattle noise that I was hoping for. Also my engine only needed one valve and I ordered two. Waist of time and money.
Excellent
I purchased two TRQ-branded VVT solenoids for my 2012 Mini Cooper S after experiencing rough idling during cold starts. The original OEM Pierburg VVT solenoids had 150,000 miles on them. After replacing them with the TRQ units, the cold idle issue disappeared, and my fuel economy increased from 23 to 28 mpg. I am thrilled with this purchase and recommend it if it is compatible with your vehicle. Hopefully, these will last.
I really appreciate you guys with all the help I'm not a mechanic but I do have some tools. Really easy to install really help your you tube videos. Thanks a million ??
It worked. I replaced the part. That was took care of my problem. Thank you!
After replacing this variable cam timing solenoid, it got my wife's 2011 mini cooper (R55) to pass emissions.
The solenoid was an exact fit and solved our exhaust timing issue. The part was exactly as described and arrived as promised.
all good quality easy to install. video really helps
Affordable replacement VANOS solenoid - gets the job done without the added expense for an OE part that has a relatively short service life anyway. Replacement solenoid installed quickly and easily in only 10 minutes (2012 Countryman S exhaust solenoid). Connector fit perfectly and issue was solved. Car ran great again and is still doing so a few weeks later. Recommended.
Its a 2 pin connector, part number "12527542EightFourNine". FCPEURO has it for less than 8 dollars.
Yes, this part will fit your vehicle as long as you have a L4 1.6L engine.

Are you sure it's the vanos? If it's plugged up, it would cause issue. If it's clean you may have a timing issue. If the chain is too tight or too loose it affects how far the cam moves.

This solenoid is listed to fit 2014 Mini Cooper models with an L4 1.6L engine.
Yes it fit because I buy one still working good
I purchased this item and so I'm now able to post the answer to my own question: China. That said, the part appears to be of high quality, arrived in a vacuum-sealed plastic pouch inside a cardboard box with the TRQ branding. Appears machined out of billet metal (stainless steel? aluminum?) with microscreens on three of the tiers versus just a single one on the original part (original part was marked "Delphi.") Overall form factor does seem identical, as does the weight. Could perhaps believe this was made in the same factory as OE. Have driven the car just a few miles since install, but engine seems to idle more smoothly and be easier to start out in gear (standard transmission) with perhaps better low-RPM power. Had been getting occasional limp mode with pending P0015 codes, and so far, none yet.
Yes, these are the same for either side.
Yes this will fit a 2011 Mini Cooper S with the 1.6L engine.
