Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we are going to show you how to replace the mass air flow sensor on this 2003 Nissan Altima with the 2.5 liter four cylinder engine. The only items you'll need for this are a new mass air flow sensor from 1AAuto.com and a 10mm socket and ratchet.
Start off by just loosening this clamp using a 10mm socket and ratchet. Now, flip the tabs on your air intake box lid and just pull the lid forward and up and out of that air intake hose and then push the tab on the mass air flow harness and just pull that off. Now, to separate the mass air flow sensor from the lid, you want to remove this four 10mm bolts by using a 10mm socket and ratchet, or using a Philips head screwdriver.
Now, you can see the old mass air flow sensor on the left, and the new on the right. They are identical. They will mount the same and work exactly the same. You want to just line up your mass air flow sensor and first just put each bolt in by hand and then tighten them up with the socket and ratchet, and we'll just fast forward as Don does this. To reinstall, put the air box top and mass air flow sensor back in. Start the flow sensor into the hose. Then, there are tabs on the top of the air box that go into slots. Slide those in and then push it down and reengage the clips, reconnect your mass air flow sensor, make sure the hose is on there securely, and tighten up the hose clamp, and you should be all set.

This was an exact fit for an 03 altima at a fraction of the price. Keep in mind that after installing it you must do a few relearn procedures or your car will run poorly and eventually break down if you continue to drive it without relearning.
Amazing

Its recommended that a shop do some diagnosing. Though you may get a check engine light and you get a mass air flow code does NOT mean this part is bad. It may be a "related" part causing the problem.
Some symptoms may be but not limited too,
engine stalls soon after starting.
engine drags or hesitates when idle or under load.
hesitation and/or jerks during acceleration.
unusually lean or rich idling.

Your car will run extremely rich, smoke out of the back, etc. There was a recall in this era of Altima, make sure there isn't further damage inside the engine itself [recall states the cat converter substrate breaks off, marring the inside of the engine] this mimics the symptoms of a MAF failure, however, it was a larger, much greater internal problem I later found out....Good luck!
