Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video we're going to show you how to replace a front strut on this 2004 Nissan Titan, and we show you on the passenger side but the driver's side is a similar procedure. The items you'll need for this are a new front strut from 1AAto.com, 14, 19, and 21mm socket and ratchet, a piece of pipe for extra leverage, a hammer, a punch, jack and jack stands, a torque wrench, and a 19mm wrench.
To start off, you want to remove you wheel, so just remove these lug nuts. On this vehicle it was 19 mm, but because they're not stock wheels, yours may be slightly different. If you don't have air-powered tools, you're going to want to loosen the lug nuts preliminarily, raise the vehicle, and the remove them the rest of the way. Once those are removed, your wheel will pull right off.
At the bottom of the strut you'll see this 19mm bolt. You just want to go ahead and remove that. You can see, we use a piece of pipe for some extra leverage. Once it's broken free, you don't need the pipe anymore. We'll just fast forward as he uses a 19mm socket and ratchet on one side and a 19mm wrench on the other. Once you've removed the nut, using a punch and a hammer, knock out the bolt. Then, remove these three 14mm nuts at the top of your strut. We'll just fast forward as Don does this. Use a hammer to knock the strut out of place and then pull it down. Then, angle it up and down and out.
On the left is the old strut. On the right is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical and they're going to fit exactly the same. Insert the new strut and push those studs up through. Once you've got them up into place, just replace those three 14mm nuts. We'll fast forward as Don does this. Now, carefully hammer the lower end of the strut back into place. Then push down on the wheel knuckle and push your bolt back into place. Then hammer it in the rest of the way. We'll fast forward as Don replaces the nut and tightens it up. You want to torque this lower bolt to 100 foot-pounds and the three 14mm nuts to 25 foot-pounds. We'll fast forward as Don replaces the wheel and replaces the lug nuts and tightens them up preliminarily. Then you want to lower the vehicle and tighten them the rest of the way and torque them in a crossing pattern to 100 foot-pounds.

Everything went great. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because it did not come with new bolts and nuts to replace shocks. My old ones was as rusted as the shocks. But great ppl and great item. I will definitely buy from them again.

Unfortunately I had a bit of an issue with my purchase. So, I contacted 1A Auto and spoke with a rep and they were most helpful in my problem. Without a 3rd degree of any kind I gave the rep my reasons and they refunded me my full purchase price without a bunch of BS. So in my books 1A auto parts are A1 as they do have good parts and exceptional customer service.

When I first purchased, I thought what a great deal. My feeling now is, you get what you pay for. Install was fairly easy. When I took for a test drive, the ride was smooth, but I noticed over bumps, a clunking noise from the front. I let it go at first thinking the struts be needed to settle, but now it's been 5 months and it's worse AND now bumps turn my Titan into a pogo stick. I started research possible causes to the clunking noise and everything pointed to strut mounts. Well the strut mounts come preinstalled. I removed one side and the rubber grommets were not in proper alignment causing the noise. I purchased from a local store the poroper mounts which had significantly thicker rubber grommets, but I did pay for cheaper. After struggling with a spring compressor for 6 hours, I was finally able to install a new strut mount and surprise, clunking noise is gone...on that side.
Perfect fit

This is the 3rd set of shocks and struts installed on my truck... not as great as the previous shocks but still good. My truck has 267k on it and these certainly will help it for another couple years!
Great for the money, just needed 2 weeks on dirt road to get them broken in.

Great Price and easy shopping for Parts. the ride so far is like a new truck. the only issue I had was the shipping containers. Got home and found one box in good shape and the other was busted and taped!!! the driver did tape 2 nuts he found to the box but was still short one. I wish TRQ would box the heavy item better!! My brother had the same issue. But over all good parts..

We have a few different aftermarket companies build these parts specifically for us, as our 1A Auto house brand. They are manufactured to the same OEM specifications as the original part that came with your vehicle. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

What's the difference between this set and the Monroe brand set? (other than the price)December 20, 2016
Neftali S

Both parts will be manufactured to meet or exceed O.E specifications and appear the same in size and dimensions. The only difference will be that Monroe is a separate brand while we have our own 1A Auto in house brand parts, both backed by a lifetime warranty.

Will I only have to buy 1 kit for my truck and will it fit on my truck if it's not 4 wheel drive ?January 27, 2017
Naum C

You will need to purchase only one kit to cover all four tires, however for the Nissan Titans between the year range 2004 - 2014 this set is applicable to 4 wheel drive models. For your 2 wheel drive model we recommend viewing our part number 1ASSP01365 which is temporarily out of stock.
