I can't really answer it without having it out of a tank. There are 2 different heights, the first is when it is out of the tank, 2nd is the compressed height. I bought this pump a while ago and it fit perfectly in my 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7L 1A Auto stands behind their parts. Rest assured you will be taken care of.
