This video we're going to show you how to replace the taillight connector plate in this 2004 Chevy Trailblazer. Pretty easy job, you just need a Phillips screwdriver and this is usually a problem if your lights are malfunctioning, but the bulbs all seem to be fine.
Start by removing two Phillips screws. Once you have those screws out you just want to kind of pull on your lamp and it comes out pretty easy. There are two tabs here that go here and disconnect your harness there's a little tab right here. Now this board can get shorted out, we just want to replace it. We just want to remove three screws. You can see that the bulbs are in this, you just want to remove the bulbs, put them in for the new one and. Screw back in. Now take your white two tabs, you can line them up here. First, see the connector plate plugs right in and then just kind of look from the side here, see those tabs go in. Should be all set.

Customer Q&A
Regarding the replacement of tail light circuit board repair plug for a 2007 Chevy Trailblazer are the wires color coded for easy splicing to existing wires?August 28, 2018

Hi Chris. The replacement I did was on my mother in laws trailblazer. I don't recall if the colors were the same, however, to make it easier, I spliced one wire at a time starting with one side of the plug and worked wire by wire until they were all spliced so that wires were connected according to their placement on the plug. Do not cut all the old wires off at the same time. Working wire by wire, matching placement between the old and new plugs is a guarantee that installation will be successful. Placement of the wires on the plug will matter more than colors matching. Good luck. Take care.
