Hi, I’m Mike from 1A Auto. We’ve been selling auto parts for over 30 years!
Hi everyone, Sue here at 1A Auto. And today, we're going to show you how to replace your ignition coils on a 4.7 liter on our '03 Tundra today. If you need this part or any other part for your car, click on the link below and head on over to 1AAuto.com.
Hood releases on the driver's side knee kick panel. It's marked clearly with a hood popping open. Pull on the handle. The safety latch is to the right of the Toyota symbol. You'll feel a flat piece of metal there. Push up on it.
10-millimeter socket, and you loosen up the mounting bolt. You just take the mounting bolt right out, and put it aside. And you can just grab that coil and twist it and pull straight up. Now we can grab the connector a little bit easier, push on this tab, and pull up on it. There we go. And there we have a coil.
Here we have the new coil from 1AAuto.com and the coil that we took out of our '03 Tundra. As you can see, they needed them. There was a hairline crack, and they did some sort of like rubber repair here, maybe with RTV. That's a good band aid to get you out of the woods, but you still have a misfire. The coil from 1A Auto has the water seal. It's got the four-prong with the lock connector, mounting bolt. It's identical. This says Toyota on it. It's a factory part. If you need this part or any other part for your car, click on the link below, and head on over to 1AAuto.com.
Before I reinstall the coil, I like to put a little silicone paste on the tip. That just makes a good smooth contact, and on the boot, so that a little water resistant buildup. And then you're just going to slide it down in there. Line up the mounting bolt and push down firm. I'm going to click on the connector. Hear that snap. Grab that mounting bolt. And then tighten it down. You just want it tight. Once it bottoms out, use a little quarter turn. Repeat this process eight times on this 4.7 liter.
Thanks for watching. Visit us at 1AAuto.com for quality auto parts, fast and free shipping, and the best customer service in the industry.

They are direct replacement part and I had zero issues installing them. They arrived promptly from 1A-Auto and so far are performing with out any issues. I would recommend them to anyone wanting to replace oem part but at a 1/4 the cost.

do these add a lot of power?
My truck runs great no more ghost check engine lights. For years I was replacing the coils one at a time till I got these
It had plenty of power.
Ive never noticed more power or thought about it till now. It runs great with 277xxx miles.
I recommend
I never really floored my truck
Only once Ive got a little side ways on some dirt it has plenty of power to get real side ways. If need be
I bet its good on the engine to have all new coils and spark plugs.
Keep the own I did. Never needed them but who knows.
If the engine is running top with new sparks and these new coils. I feel in turn would give more power. Or restore power.
I get 18 mpg 65-70 I want mpg not worried about power since the v8 has enough
Engine running good = more power to send it.
A lot of power well thats hard to say
Power yes! a lot?
Sure f it yea a lot of power
Id say Im 70/30 on if they add a lot power
Im 100 they add power

Do i have to use certain sparkplugs. Also do i have to gap them different or will oem spec be ok?
You will not need to purchase a specific brand of sparkplug but you will want to purchase spark plugs that are listed specifically for your vehicle. Spark plugs will come pregapped but we do suggest checking them after shipment. Please provide your 17-digit VIN so we can see if we offer the correct sparkplugs Thank you!

Hello... Im in the process of purchasing some replacement ignition coils from your website. ...but before I do... I was hoping you might be able to set my mind at eases -- due to my recently being told a "Cautionary Tale" regarding the risks involved
TRQ is a high quality, high-end name brand that we offer and back with our 1A Auto Limited Lifetime Warranty. Should these coils fail due to manufacturing defects during intended use, they are eligible for immediate replacement. They are not eligible for a refund once installed.
We wouldn't be able to answer your first question, but if you check out reviews for them online you should be able to get a good idea of the quality you would be getting. We sell many of these coils and since they are high quality they have a good track record!
