In this video, we show you how to replace the front signal and side marker light on this '98 VW Beetle. It's a pretty easy procedure. You just need a small flat blade screwdriver and a Phillips screwdriver.
There's a little door right here. Using a small flat blade screwdriver, pry it out. It comes off. There's a Phillips screw right here. Pull that right out. Your light comes out, and you can turn this counterclockwise. Then your bulb turns counterclockwise and comes out. New bulb put in.
Here's a new light from 1A Auto, if you want to freshen yours up nice and clear, or if you've had one broken. Just take your light, put it in, and twist it to lock. There's little tab right up here. Make sure that goes into your fender. Screw it in place, nice and firm. Don't over-tighten it.

Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace a parking light on this 2001 Volkswagen Beetle. We show you on the driver's side, but the passenger side is the same procedure. It's the same part and similar process on these Volkswagen Beetles from '98 to 2001. The only items you'll need for this are a new parking light from 1AAuto.com, Phillips screwdriver and a flat blade screwdriver.
Start off by prying off this little panel on the side of the light with a flat blade screwdriver, and then, removing the Phillips screw from behind it. Once the screw is entirely loosened, you can reach back in there with a flat blade screwdriver, and just lightly pry out on the light, and then, pull it straight out. To disconnect the harness, put a flat blade screwdriver in the slot and pry out.
To replace the bulb, twist out the socket and then push the bulb in, and twist, and then pull out. Push your new bulb in, and twist it in, to lock it, and then, twist your socket back into place.
On the left, is the old parking light; on the right, is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical and they'll fit exactly the same. Twist out the socket from your old parking light and twist it into your new parking light. Connect the harness. Then line up this tab into this slot and push the parking light back into place. Replace that Phillip's screw. Then, replace this small panel and you're all set.
