SWA60032
This was a much better solution for the cost than the dealers part. My ignition started to get a little stiff when trying to start the can and then completely stuck. There was a small piece inside the became dislodged and wedged so prevent me from turning the key. I replaced the safety bolts with regular ones and this fit exactly and works great.
I bought this Ignition cylinder for my 2012 Volkswagen Passat 2.5 SE. The ignition suddenly went bad and it wouldn't turn my car on. After doing some research I figure the ignition cylinder had to be replaced. The most difficult task for this project was taking out the anti-theft bolts. I had to drill them out and afterwards replaced them with hex bolts I found at Home Depot to make the removal easy next time around. It was difficult removing the ignition lock because the key would not turn and it was difficult to align the holes to be able to remove it. All I would do is bang it around and smash it on a table to get it to turn, but I had to be careful to not break the key. Once I had the holes aligned, I placed a paper clip inside it to remove the ignition lock. I then put the ignition switch and lock into the new ignition cylinder. I installed it into the car and it was able to turn on. Thank you 1A Auto, I'm very happy with my part.
