Hi, this is Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how to video helps you out. Next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace a manual mirror on this 2005 Chevy Cobalt, same as any '05 to 2010 Cobalt with the manual mirrors. Only tool you'll need is a flat blade screwdriver and a 10mm wrench.
First, with a screwdriver carefully pry the top slowly out and kind of come down further and pull straight out on this panel. Three nuts hold the mirror on. You just see, one and two. The third one is right down in there. Use a 10mm wrench. Go right in here. Once you pretty much have it started, just use my finger. Okay. Reach with my both fingers, unscrew it. Pull it right out. Okay, then remove the other two. Just fast forward here as we remove those other two nuts.
You just basically press in on a few tabs. Let me show you that again here. Push it through. There's a tab right up here, there's a tab over here. Press those tabs and it pushes right through. Here's your mirror out. Reinstallation or installation of the new mirror. Just the reverse of the procedure. Put the control through. Then put it in the right position, pull it through. Make sure all the tabs are pushed through. Okay. Now, just get the mirror in the right position. It clips in place. Start these two nuts first. This one. Carefully as I put my fingers right in there. Basically hand it to my fingers and start it on. Be careful not to drop it down into the door. Use the wrench to tighten it up. Make sure this goes on. Make sure it's in on all the slots. Make sure it's all through. Push the bottom on.
