All right, we wanna take this cap off. Just use a straight blade screwdriver, just get underneath there. Pop that off. Use a 13-millimeter socket, take the nut off.
Now, they do make pullers that you can use a puller on the end of this or just grab the wiper arm, just rock it back and forth. Eventually it'll break free. And then disconnect the hose. You can do the same with the other side. Just take a trim tool underneath here; there's a little clip there. And on the back side there's a clip back here.
And then, if you wanted to take the antenna off, you could, or just slide this over. And then we're gonna do the same on the other side. The other side does not have the antenna, though. There's a screw right here. We're just going to use a T15, take that screw out. There's going to be one on the other side as well. Take that screw out. And there's going to be some clips right here. We'll just use a pick, try to get underneath there. Slide those off. There should be four of these on the front and then two on the side, so take all of those off.
There's a pushpin right here, just get that underneath there, try to pull that up. Just be careful, you don't wanna pry too hard in this area because you are near the windshield. All right, sometimes if you can't get that out with a tool, just get underneath the cowl and just try to pry up on it.
Just pop it up like that. All right, and just slide the panel out. Underneath here there is a connection of the hose. You can try to disconnect it right here if you want. This is for the washer nozzles. Just like that. There is a junction right here if you wanted to disconnect it. And just slide the panel out of the way. And disconnect the connector, just make sure your fingers are out of the way. And just slide it out; there's a little tab, just push down on the tab.
Take the shield out of the way, use a 10-millimeter socket. There's four bolts that hold it down. Just grab the panel, slide it off. And there's a bolt over here and a bolt over here on the end of the transmission, wiper transmission. Take those out; use the same 10-millimeter socket. And just grab the wiper motor and transmission and just slide it out.
Before I take this arm off the motor, because we're going to transfer the motor over to the new wiper transmission, we want to make a mark; just use a felt-tipped pen to just mark out on the motor. What it pretty much is is the furthest part that this piece can go out. And I'm just going to take a pry bar and we need to pry this arm off. Just get underneath here, twist it. It's just a ball and socket joint there. Now I'm going to use a 1 and 1/8th wrench just to hold this arm from spinning. There we go. You can use a large adjustable. And then I'll use a 13-millimeter socket; remove the nut. Take a pry bar and go underneath the arm. Pry up. Just make sure you don't spin the motor. And take the arm off. Okay, and take these two bolts out; use a 10-millimeter socket.
Now, line the wiper motor up; there's some tabs. Line those tabs up and put the bolts in. Tighten those bolts down. And then, take this arm, slide it over the motor. You can get the nut started like this first and then just rotate it, making sure you're not rotating the motor. And then we'll tighten it up with a wrench and you can hold the arm with the other wrench. And then snug that nut up. You can put a little thread locker on that nut if you want. That's good.
All right, take the wiper transmission and motor, just make sure you get the wire out of the way. Line this up. Don't plug that in yet. Put the bolts in, there, and right there. And before I tighten those bolts up, I want to put this panel back on and at least get the bolts started.
Now let's tighten this bolt down. Snug that one down...and this one...and this one. And snug the rest of them down. Now, watching your fingers, don't have any of your fingers near the transmission at all, plug the motor in. Now I'm just going to turn the key on, just make sure that none of these move. And you can cycle the wipers one cycle and just make sure you put it back to park, and then you know that these are timed correctly and that's good. And then shut the key off.
Take the cowl, line that back up. Before we completely secure, remember to hook this hose up. All right, that's good. Slide it in position. And there we go, it's lined up. The long pushpin that goes in the center, there, get that lined up. And then take the screw that goes right here, use the T15, tighten it down. That's good. Take this cover, get it lined up...lock it down, do the same for the other side. Take these clips, put them all in position right there, all through the front; there's four in the front, and then the two on the sides. Just press them right on, just like that. And then take your wiper arm, line it up in position. You can plug the hose on. Put the nut in. Then we can tighten this nut down to 22 foot-pounds. And take the cap, put the cap back on. We can do the same with the other one.
