Remove the kick panel on the driver's side by grabbing the top and popping it back. You can then move it around the weather strip in the door and slide it out of the way. You can see our old hood latch release cable is already broken. There are two tabs, one on each side that you'll need to pop in, and slide the cable out of it. This is all that's left of our old part.
Using the T40 Torx socket and a ratchet, remove the T40 Torx bolt that was securing what was left of our hood latch release handle to the body.
Put the cable through the new hood latch release handle, and install the cable into the actual handle. That kind of twist it through the opening there. You have to pull it some. It may help to use a small screwdriver just to get a little better leverage on it, set it in like that. Set up the little alignment pin into the body and start your T40 Torx screw.
Tighten that down with your T40 Torx socket and ratchet. Reinstall your interior trim panel. Be sure to get the bottom under the rocker panel. There's a little alignment pin in there. Line up the top, push firmly to reengage the clips and you're good to go.
