Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the front upper grille on a 2006 Chevy Impala. It's the same operation for model years 2006 through 2011. All you'll need is a little pocket screwdriver and a new grille from 1A Auto.
Remove the two plastic rivets on either side of the grille, underneath the hood. Pull the insert up and then, the outer portion will come out with it. Start with one side of the chrome portion of the grille and give it a tug. You'll see that it's just basically held in there by plastic tabs, so be a little careful not to pull too hard. Once you've done that, pull out the insert there. For this one, you just give it a good tug, start from one side, and work your way to the other.
Going back in, you can see all the little tabs along the outside edge and where they seat into the bumper cover. Push them in. Make sure they're all lined up and that the holes up top for those plastic rivets are lined up, and then, go back in with your chrome trim ring. It goes around it, again, making sure that those tabs are lined up with the corresponding holes in the grille insert. Once you have that done, re-install the two plastic rivets that go through the top.
