In this video, we're going to be working with our 2006 Chrysler 300. We're going to show you how to remove and replace the heated seat switch located at the bottom center of your dashboard just before your center shifter. If you like this video. Please click subscribe. We have a ton more information on this car as well as many other makes and models. If you need this part for your vehicle, they're available from 1AAuto.com. You can follow the link down in the description over to our website. Here are the items you'll need for this repair.
At the bottom of your center dash panel you'll find your heated seat switches. We have one for drivers and one for the passengers. All we need to remove and replace these switches, if they've gone bad, is our interior trim removal tool from 1AAuto.com. Open the ash tray here in the center console and you can actually just pull out on that. You'll want to put your key in the ignition. Just turn it to on, foot on the break and shift your car into neutral to give you a little more room to work. You may have to pull this little plastic tray out if your vehicle has one. All it does is slide up. Lift up on the ash tray and slide it past the center console.
We have an electrical connector on the back of each switch. The tab is on the bottom. You just want to push up and remove them. You can disconnect the cigarette lighter over here. It's just a push down and pull. It’s kind of tough to get your fingers in there -another awesome use for this tool.
Both switches are removed in the exact same manner. You'll see you have this little plastic tab up here. We have its twin on the other side. All we're going to do is put some pressure on it there. Use that trim tool to push the tab in. Rock the switch so it holds that tab down while we get the other one. Then our switch slides right out the front.
Here we have our old heated seat switch that we removed from our vehicle and our new part from 1AAuto.com. As you can see these switches are exactly the same. We have the same body of the switch, and the same drawing on the front, as well as the same LED and connectors. What can happen is these switches can fail so when you push it down, you don't have any heated seats. Fortunately, the new switch is easy to change and restore that luxury to your vehicle. If you have a bad heated seat switch or yours is faded out and you just want to make your interior look a little bit nicer, this new part from 1A Auto is going to go in direct fit just like your original equipment and fix you up right.
Make sure your switch is facing up. Pop it back in until it locks. Now we'll reconnect our cigarette lighter down at the bottom here. Reconnect the switches. With the ashtray open we'll pop it down, back in. Lock that panel back into place, close your ash tray and if you had to remove the little rubber cover at the bottom there, just drop that back in. Put your vehicle back in park and insure that your heated seats function properly.
