Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace a mass airflow sensor on this 2001 Ford Taurus. It's the same part and similar process on these Tauruses from 2000 to 2003.The items you'll need for this are a new mass airflow sensor from 1AAuto.com, a flat blade screwdriver and a 10mm socket and ratchet.
Your mass airflow sensor's located right here. Just push the tab on the harness and pull it free. Now, you want to loosen up this hose clamp with your flat blade screwdriver. Then pull that hose free.
Now, flip up this tab here and pull the clip back and do the same thing to this one right here. Now, you can lift the top of your air intake box, straight out. Then pull it from the hose and out.
Next, remove these four 10mm bolts holding the mass airflow sensor to the top of the air intake box. Now, the sensor pulls free.
Take your new sensor and push it into place. Replace those four 10mm bolts.
Push these tabs down to these two slots. At the same time, make sure it goes back into that hose. Push the hose further into place. Re-clip the top of the air intake box.
Tighten up that hose clamp. Reconnect your harness. You're all set.
