I had the catalytic converter go out on my 2008 Lexus GX 470. The dealership wanted $1900 to replace one cat! I bought the cat and oxygen sensors from 1A Auto and paid my mechanic to do the install. Saved around $900! It went in with no problems. Thank you 1A Auto!!
Doesn't Function Properly - Throws Codes

I recently purchased and installed the above referenced part and it is not performing as it should. About 3wks ago my cars check engine light came on and upon further review of the engines diagnostic computer it showed a P420 code in bank 1. This typically indicates the catalytic converter is not functioning properly. I had it into my local shop and they confirmed the converter is not functioning properly and in their experience, the aftermarket ones often put out these error codes. In a Lexus, when a check engine light comes on it disables certain safety features like stability control and traction control. This part doesn't function properly and isn't worth the savings in my mind. It throws a code about every other day so I have to spend 5m clearing the code, which is really annoying.
