Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and, please, next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the four-wheel drive speed sensor on this 2002 Chevy Suburban. It's the same part and similar process on these Suburbans from 2000 - 2010. The items you'll need for this is a new four-wheel drive speed sensor from 1AAuto.com, and a 19mm wrench. You may want to use jack and jack stands for some extra room, but they're not required.
Your four-wheel drive speed sensor is located right here. You'll want to just lift up on this tab and pull the harness free. Then, using an 19mm wrench just twist the sensor out. We'll fast-forward as Mike does this. Pull out this O-ring.
On the left is the old speed sensor, on the right is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical and they'll fit exactly the same. Push your new speed sensor down into place and twist it in. We'll fast forward as Mike does this and then tightens it up with the 19 mm wrench. Reconnect the harness, and you're all set.

Why buy from a auto parts store when you can get the same thing for way cheaper. Parts come from the same place initially and doesn't need to get marked way up for others profits. I've saved thousands and watching videos makes parts easy to install.

Arrived on time. Solved the problems that were occurring. Speedometer was bouncing, shifts were erratic and, cruise control was unable to stay at the set speed. The part hooked up properly and truck is back to normals. I recommend this part if youre experiencing similar symptoms.

Customer Q&A
I have a 2005 awd suburban, the front wheel beering were replace. The truck now seems to make a grinding noise when starting from a stop. Will this part solve that problem?August 23, 2015

I don't think the rear wheel speed sensor will help you. It measures the speed of the vehicle and inputs the speed into the trucks computer. An abs speed sensor measures the front wheel speeds to ensure they are going the same speed to indicate if your brakes are slowing the vehicle evenly across the front wheels. I have also had to replace a right front abs sensor that was bad in my 2005 4wd Suburban. A bad sensor should not cause a grinding noise.
