Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the passenger side power window switch. It's the same part and similar process for the rear door window switches. It's the same part on these Jetta's from 2005 to 2010. The items that you'll need for this is a new power window switch from 1AAuto.com, a T30 Torx bit and ratchet, a flat blade screwdriver, and a T20 Torx driver.
Pry out on your pull handle panel here. Then remove these two T30 screws. We'll fast forward as Mike does that. Now remove this T20 screw and these 3 T20 screws down at the bottom of the door panel. Now pull out on the door panel to release the clips. You just need to pull out all the way along the outside edge. Once you've released all the clips, pull the door panel up and out of the window sill. Then pull it forward. Pull back on this cable to release the clip, and then unhook it from the door handle. Then push the two tabs on your speaker harness and disconnect it. Then, down here, you want to push on this tab while lifting up that purple lever. That will release that harness. Now remove these two T20 screws on the back of your pull handle. Now remove this T20 screw right here. Your pull handle will pull free. You may have to work at it a little bit. Once it releases, just push the tab on this harness and disconnect it.
Now apply pressure to the switch, and then just release the tabs on either side. There are two on each side. The switch will pull free.
On the right is the old power window switch; on the left is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical and will fit exactly the same.
You can see we've put our pull handle back on and replaced those three T20 screws. Now just reconnect the harness to the power window switch and push it into place. Test it out and it works.
We'll reconnect the harness. Push that purple lever back up. Then reconnect the speaker harness. Then rehook the door handle cable into the door handle and then clip it back in. Then put your door panel back up into the window sill and push it down in. Now make sure your clips are lined up, and put them back into place. Then we'll fast-forward as Mike replaces those four T20 screws and the two T30 screws. Put the pull handle panel back into place. Make sure it's pushed in all the way and you're all set.

Hi, I’m Mike from 1A Auto. We’ve been selling auto parts for over 30 years!
In this video, we are going to show you how to replace a passenger side window switch in a 2010 Volkswagen GTI. If you need this part or any other part, you can click the link in the description. You take your pry tools and get these trim tools at 1AAuto.com. Push down slightly right here. Be careful not to break anything. A lock tab's right there. There should be another one on this side. One more over here. There we go.
We have four lock tabs. Two on that side. Two on this side. All right. Pull up slightly, and you need to disconnect the connector. You're going to push on this little lock tab on the connector, and then pull down. Now, to pull the window switch out, you're going to take a flat blade tool and just put it in there between the switch and the housing. One last one. Get the last lock out.
Here's our old part. Here's our new part from 1AAuto.com. As you can see, they look very similar and your connectors are exactly the same. Get your part at 1AAauto.com, and you'll be ready to rock and roll.
Install our switch into our trim piece. You're going to slide it in like so, just give it a little pressure. Make sure all the lock tabs are in. Looks good. Now, we're going to connect our electrical connector. You're going to line up these slots with the new switch. Push it on, and we need to line this up down below. Push down on the locks. It's locked in place.
Thanks for watching. Visit us at 1AAuto.com for quality auto parts, fast and free shipping, and the best customer service in the industry.

Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the rear power window switch on this 2005 Volkswagen Jetta. We'll show you on the driver side, but the passenger side is the same procedure. The items you'll need for this is a new power window switch from 1AAuto.com, T30 Torx bit and ratchet, flat blade screwdriver, and a T20 Torx driver.
Pry off the pull handle panel. Just pry from the bottom and pry from the center and it pulls free. Then remove these two T30 screws, and the one T20 screw at the bottom of the door. Once those are removed, pull out sharply on the door panel and it will release the clips. Then lift the door panel up and out of the window sill. Then pull the panel back. Unclip your door handle cable, slide it forward, and then unhook it. Push the tabs on the other side of this harness and pull it free. Push the tab on this harness and disconnect it. Up here is another two-tab harness. Now up here just push the tab on this harness and disconnect it. Then just disconnect this last harness right here. If you have any clips left behind just pull them out with some pliers and then slide them back into place on the door panel.
Remove these two T20 screws. We'll fast-forward as Mike does that. Then remove this T20 screw right here. Now, just pull the pull handle out. You may have to maneuver it a little bit, but it will pull free. There is a tab that tucks under here, it helps just to push that. Then, to remove the switch, there's two tabs on either side, so pry out the two tabs while applying pressure in the opposite direction. I'm going to do the same thing on the other side while pulling out on the switch and the switch will pull free.
Now you want to put the pull handle back into place, so just feed it back in place and then push this down and into that hole. We'll fast-forward as Mike replaces those screws. And then your switch just pushes right back into place.
Reconnect all of your harnesses for the door panel. Take your door handle cable and hook it back into the door handle and then slide the cable back and back into that clip. Once you've got it clipped in, take your door panel and tuck it back down into the window sill. Make sure the clips are lined up. Then hit them back into place. We'll fast forward as Mike replaces that one T20 screw and those two T30 screws. Take the pull handle panel, line it up, and push it back into place.

The service and speed that I received the part were excellent. The thing that brought score to bottom was the part didn't fit. It was too tight in the plug and I would have had to force it in, I ended up paying double from VW, but it fit perfectly. Difference between authentic parts and chinese parts, I guess. I will try you guys again and hope that I have better luck.
