In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the air intake hose on this 1994 Camry, same as any '92 to '96 Camry with the 3.0L V6 engine. The only tools you'll need are a 10mm socket and ratchet, or a wrench, and a pair of pliers. The intake hose on these Toyotas, what can happen is it can dry out and crack, and it allows air in. The airflow sensor isn't metering, therefore causing your engine to get the wrong amount of air. 1A Auto, so a replacement to fix that. It's pretty easy.
A 10mm socket and ratchet, loosen up the clamps. Then there's another clamp right in back here. Install a small extension on a ratchet. Now you'll need a set of pliers. So there's a hose from the engine here, squeeze the clamps, slide them down, squeeze the clamp. Slide it down. Then use your pliers and grab hold of this hose, try and twist it so it comes off. Now we want to loosen the hose up from the air sensor, and the throttle body, and that thing is just take it and twist it. Then when we're twisting, pull it off the throttle body, and lift it up, and then it comes off the sensor and out. Now, you need to transfer this onto your new hose. So squeeze the clamp, pull it off, pull the clamp off. Here's our hose topside. You can tell the topside. It has this little arrow on the engine end, and this item, this little tab goes to the top. So we'll have to put our clamp on and hold it. Now while we put that on, slide the clamp back, and release. Now we need to remove this fitting. You need to transfer the clamps. The edging side is a smaller size clamp, so put it on there. Then the larger one is the air filter box side, or the mass air flow sensor side.
Okay, let's put them on there. Install the close sensor sides first. Pull it towards you to get it onto the engine. Clamp's okay in there. Make sure the clamps are around the rubber where they're supposed to be. On the engine side it slipped back. Reconnect this hose, and tighten up the clamps. With these clamps, you can actually usually see how tight you've had it before, just by looking. You can see that this is silver up here. It's dirty down there. It's basically tightened up to the end of the darker part of the bolt. Pliers, squeeze, and one of these goes all the way up to hold that fitting into the air hose assembly. Then one just holds the hose onto the thing. You're all set.
