In this video, we're going to show you how to remove and reinstall the heater and A/C blower motor in this 2005 Elantra, pretty much the for any 2001 to 2006 Elantra. It is a pretty easy repair. The only thing difficult about it is trying to contort yourself to be able to reach and see the blower motor. The only tool you'll need is a Phillips screwdriver.
I'll locate, on the blower motor, the connector, the drain pipe, and three screws: here, here and in the back. We're also going to remove one Phillips head screw right here for a harness that just runs below the blower motor so it's just going to be easier to pull it out. We'll start by removing the connector. It's a tab that you push in. We'll just fast forward as we take those screws out. It's a pretty easy repair, just a little awkward getting underneath there and getting at some of the screws. I'm pushing the harness away with my right hand and twisting the blower motor out.
Here's the old blower motor and the OEM match motor from 1A Auto. I'm inserting the new OEM motor up. I put the harness facing me back here into the cabin and I'm going to push the electrical harness out of the way. I fed it back up until it locked into place. Okay we'll speed up here again. What you want to do is to try and start the screws by hand and then tighten them up. You want to tighten them up evenly and firmly but not too tight because you could strip the plastic housing.
