In this video, we're going to show you how to remove and replace your tail light assembly. We'll show you both replacing the tail light assembly as well as if you just need to change a bulb, the procedure for that. This is pretty much the same for any 2002 to 2006 Ram. Tools you'll need are a T25 torx driver, a flat blade screwdriver, and a Phillips screwdriver if you are replacing a bulb.
Okay, first, you want to remove the tail light. T25 torx bit, there's two screws, one here and one down here. As soon as I pull that one out the light starts moving. Then you pull over here with this hand on the edge, and basically two pins here that lock into holes there. You need a flat blade screwdriver. There's a locking tab here, just push it down and out and then push on the tab here and remove that harness. If you're just looking to change the bulbs, undo four Phillips screws. Okay, we'll fast-forward through removing those four screws.
And this connector plate comes out. The bulbs just detach like that. Okay, and again we'll fast-forward as we just put those four screws back into place and tighten them down nice and snug. So now a new light from 1A Auto. Exactly the same. If you've broken your taillight it's a perfect fix, goes right in. Comes in. Locking tab. Pushes right into place. Start one screw, start the other screw. Nice and snug, they don't have to be extremely tight. You're all set.
