Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going show you how to service the bulb as well as replace the rear side marker light on this 2003 Mercury Mountaineer. We'll show you on the passenger side but the driver side is the same procedure. The only tool you'll need for this is a 10 millimeter socket and ratchet.
Reach up behind the side marker light and just twist your socket out counterclockwise and then pull the bulb free. Take your new bulb, push it into place and then you would just twist that socket back in clockwise to lock it.
If you're going to remove the assembly, there are two 10 millimeter nuts up there. You can just go ahead and remove those. Now, just push from the back of the side marker light and pull it free.
Then push your socket through. Take your new side marker light and twist the bulb in clockwise to lock it. Then push the side marker light back into place. Once you have it pushed in, just feed those 10 millimeter nuts up there and just twist them on by hand to get them started. Then just tighten them up.
