Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the master switch pack, window switch pack on a 2007 Pontiac G6, basically the same operation for 2005 through 2010. You'll need a pocket screwdriver, a Torx 30 bit, a socket wrench, and an extension if you need one.
Using a pocket screwdriver, pry up on the little mat that's inside the door handle or the door pull there, pull it out and you'll see two Torx 30 screws. I'm using a Torx 30 socket, extension, and socket wrench to remove those two screws. I'm going to fast forward as I remove those 2 screws. Pull the handle and switch pack assembly cover out. Remove the three connectors, press the tabs in on the gray and the black, and then, on the white one, use a pocket screwdriver to push the tab out and pull that one out of the way.
Cut the tape with a razor blade if you have any. On both sides of the switch pack, you're going to have two tabs between the housing and the switch pack itself. Use a pocket screwdriver, apply some pressure from underneath where the switches are, do one side, and then pop out the other side, and it should come out.
Install the switch pack. Make sure all four of the clips seat in there and then reinstall the three harnesses: the gray, black, and white. Then press it down into place, lining up the holes. Reinstall the two Torx 30 screws that you took out and I'm going to fast forward through tightening those screws and then reinstall the mat that covers the screws.
