Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the ambient air temperature sensor. This sensor is used from 1979 to 2012, but this procedure on the video covers 2004 to 2012. The items you'll need for this is a new ambient air temperature sensor from 1AAuto.com and a flat blade screwdriver.
Using a flat blade screwdriver, pry out the one tab on this side and lift up on the sensor. Then, either using your finger nails or another flat blade screwdriver, pry out the other tab while still lifting up with the other screwdriver, and then you pull that sensor free.
On the left is the old ambient air temperature sensor; on the right is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they are identical and look exactly the same.
Take your new sensor, line up the tabs, and push it right back down into place. Make sure it's all the way down. Then you're all set.
We hope this video helps you out. Brought to you by www.1AAuto.com, your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the Internet. Please feel free to call us toll-free, 888-844-3393. We're the company that's here for you on the Internet and in person.

Ambient tempetature sensor - Why did I wait so long?
L
May 12, 2018
I bought my 2005 F-150 used in 2007. It had 2 problems. The dash odometer/compass/ambient temperature screen was not illuminated and the ambient temperature guage seemed to be off by about 8-12 degrees. This year (2018) I watched two 1aAuto videos and realized how simple the fix was. I ordered the ambient sensor through 1aAuto and made the repairs in less than 20 minutes. Why did I wait so long?!? Thanks 1aAuto.

This is an ambient air temperature sensor. It senses the air around the car, and helps regulate the a/c and heat outputs.
