Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the vapor canister purge solenoid on this 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo with the 3.4L V6 engine. It's the same part and some of the process on these Monte Carlos from 2000 to 2005. The items you'll need for this include a new vapor canister purge solenoid from 1AAuto.com, a 10mm socket, and a ratchet with an extension.
Start off by just pushing the tab, disconnecting that harness, lifting the tab, and disconnecting this harness. Then pull that tube free. Push this tab in and pull this tube free. Then you want to remove that 10mm valve.
Once that's removed, you can lift your solenoid up and out. On the left is the old vapor canister purge solenoid, on the right is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical, and they'll fit exactly the same. Push the hose into your new vapor canister purge solenoid. Once you have it pushed in all the way, fit it back into place. Then just replace that 10mm valve and tighten it up. Push this hose back into place. Then this hose. Then reconnect your two harnesses, and you're all set.
