Brought to you by 1AAuto.com, your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the internet. Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how to video helps you out. Next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com.
In this video, we're going to show you how to service the headlight on this 2005 Chevy Cobalt, same as any 2005 to 2010 Cobalt. We're going to show you how to remove and replace the whole assembly and you do have to remove it to service the old bulb. It is not that difficult a task. The only tool you'll need is a 10mm wrench or a socket and ratchet and extension.
Okay, with the service light bulb, it's a little tight to get your hand under there. Actually what you want to do is remove this 10mm bolt and this 10mm bolt. Use your 10mm socket and ratchet and extension. You'll probably get in here with a wrench as well. Speed it up here as I just remove those two 10mm bolts. Lift this up. Okay, there's a connector right here, pull back on the tab. Disconnect that and your whole assembly will come out. Okay, to remove your bulb, you'll grab on here, disconnect that, take this whole ring, pull it off and the bulbs comes out.
This one also, just turn it counterclockwise and pull it out, there's the bulb, pull it straight out. Put it back in. Do the same thing with this one right down in here. Get your finger down in, twist it counterclockwise, it comes up and out. Take that out and put a new one in. Get that back down in. Clockwise to lock. New light from 1A Auto. Makes great replacement if you had a broken one or if yours have gotten foggy. Pull the plastic off the edges here and off the bottom. Okay, and there's two tabs that go into slots down here. Put this in there, plug in the lead and make sure that's clipped on correctly. Then just put the inside of the light in first then put it in place, make sure the wiring goes in, make sure your tabs goes underneath here.
You'll see it kind of twisting out and putting it in place. Kind of pull it forward to the front of the car and push it down and lock it back in. Fast forward here again as we start those bolts in and tighten them up using a 10mm socket and ratchet and extension and tighten them up nice and firm. You don't have to over tighten them though.
We hope this helps you out. Brought to you by www.1AAuto.com, your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the internet. Please feel free to call us toll-free, 888-844-3393. We're the company that's here you on the internet and in person.
