Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the grille on this 2002 Chevy Suburban and it's the same part and similar process on these Suburbans from 2000 to 2006.The items you'll need for this are a new grille from 1AAuto.com, a flat blade screw driver, a Phillips screw driver, a 10mm socket and ratchet, and a pair of pliers.
At the top of your grille, you'll see this panel and it's held in with seven clips. To remove these clips, you just pry out the center and pull it up, and then, you just pry out the bottom part. That will pull out and we'll just fast forward as Don does the rest of these. Once those are all removed, you can just lift the panel up and set it aside, and then, just remove this 10mm bolt. Holding the grille in place are these four Philips clips. Then, to remove them, all you do is just turn them a little bit to the left and you'll feel them disconnect, and you can just pull out on the grill and make sure they've disconnected and just repeat this process with all four of them.
Now, pull out on either side of the grille and the grille's free. To remove the badge, just push in the tabs on the other side and the badge will fall off.
Up front, is the old grille; behind it, is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they have all the same mounting points and will fit exactly the same. Push these clips onto your grille. Make sure they're all the way down into place. Push the badge into your new grille. The grille does come with new Philips clips, just twist off the end that goes in the grille and push it into place. You can use the old parts of the other clips or you can remove them by just pushing the tabs on the back and then, you can just push your new one into place. We'll just fast forward as Don pushes those other Philips clips into place.
Line up the pins on your grille and push them back into place and just twist that Philips clip to lock it and then, just repeat the process with the other three. Now, line up the sides and just push it straight back into place. Then, just replace this 10mm bolt at the top of the grille.
Put this top panel back into place and replace those seven clips and just push them in and then, push the center down to lock them into place. Once you've done that, you're all set.

One of the first things you're gonna wanna do is make sure that your hood's up. Once it's up, if you were to look right along here you're gonna see this bar. Go ahead and grab on it, flip it up, and then draw it away. We'll set that aside. Just go ahead and grab onto that headlamp assembly. Give it a little wiggle. It's gonna break free. Bring it up, then you should be able to see the backside. Now, if you were to look at the backside, you're gonna be able to see your high beam assembly. Go ahead and pull out that pigtail. Take a peek at the bulb, just to make sure it's in good condition. We're gonna carefully set this aside. Do the same right here. Twist that out for the headlight bulb. Take a look. Make sure it's in good condition. These look great, and there's our headlamp assembly. Now, we're just gonna take out the headlamp on the other side of the vehicle.
The next thing we're gonna do is take this top plastic area here. You're gonna see a whole bunch of push clips coming across the top. Go ahead and draw out the center, and then draw out the outer portion. There's the center. There's the outer portion. Do the same to all. Those push clips are up. Let's go ahead and get this off of here.
Gonna be time to get the grille off of here. To do that, if you were to look on the backside, you're gonna see these little tabs that kinda hold it in. There's a couple ways you can get these off. You can use a nice screwdriver. Press down on the tab, and then just draw it away, or if you're dealing with one of these sideways clips like this one, it might be a little bit harder with a screwdriver, so you could also use some needle-nose players. Grab right onto it and then draw it away. If you were to look down along the bottom there should be an area that's secured with one of these tabs as well. It's a little bit smaller. Go ahead and get that off of there. And then we'll do the same down the line. Let's go ahead and take this right off of here.
Now it's gonna be time to get our new grille onto the vehicle, but before we do that, we need to make sure we get this Chevy emblem off of here. If you were to carefully turn this over on a nice pad, you're gonna see these Nutserts here. Go ahead and remove those using a 10-millimeter. There it is.
All right. So, we've got our new grille here. We have our Chevy emblem. If you were to look at the backside of it, you're gonna see three little pitons. We're gonna line those up with the holes. Goes right on there. Turn this over carefully. Now, we're gonna put on our little Nutserts there. Snug them up. Flip it up. Take a peek. This looks great.
So now, before we install our grille, you wanna make sure you grab all your little clippy-dos you got there. Go ahead and slide them onto the grille. Just press it. Do the same to the other side.
Now it's gonna be time to get the grille on here. Just carefully bring it up. You wanna be careful you're clear for all your paint. Line up the pitons. Put them right in. Do the same to the other side. Now, we're gonna put these back into the assembly. Take this. There it is. This one, push it in. Twist it. Now, I'm just gonna carefully bring this around the backside of the grille right here. Slide it down. There we go. Might just have to push down a little bit to line up the little side prong there. It's gonna be time to get our pin in here. Just go ahead and line up the holes. Slide it through. There we are. Go ahead and flip that, and lock it right into the slot just like that.
Be time to get our plastic cover back over the grille here. Just go ahead and lay it down. Line up all your holes. Take our little push clips, and you can start wherever you want. Just start dropping them right in there. Go outside first, and then press in the center.

Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to remove and then reinstall the front grille. This is a 2005 Silverado, and it's pretty much the same for any '04 to '07 Silverado with this style headlights and grille. At 1A Auto, we sell a nice replacement grille if yours has been damaged. You will need a flat blade screwdriver. I'm going to show you this. The grille on this truck is in good shape so I just take it off and put it back on, just to show you how to do it.
Open up the hood by pulling the lever here. Reach under the center of the hood. You'll see a little lever right here. Push it towards the center of the truck and lift up. First, there are four clips. Just use a flat blade screwdriver and pry under, and get the center of the clip to come up. Okay, so you can see there's the center up. I'll just do that for the other three here. There are just four right across on the front of your radiator support here. You can either pull the centers right out or, sometimes, the whole clip comes out. Pull the centers up and out, and then the second part of the clip comes out. That's probably the easiest way. Now, there are six attaching points. There's one right back in here, one right here and then one under here. You just got to pull nice and firm. Put your fingers right in behind there. Give it a good, firm pull. Right up here, give a good pull. Grab right down here, and give a good pull, and on the other side, do the same thing. The whole grille comes right off.
You want to transfer your emblem over, there's two 10mm speed nuts, just remove those. Take your emblem off, put it on the new grille. You can see my old one's in good shape. I'm not going to replace it on this vehicle, but I'm just going to show you. Put it back carefully into place. Make sure that this part here goes underneath. There are guiding pins right up here and down at the bottom, guide you right into the right spots. I can see right here, so I'm going to clip that in. Clip that in, and it clips in nice and easy. On the outside, you might want to just push in, just a little bit, and right back on. I'm Going to take our top clips and just put the bottom part in first. Then, just follow up with the locking centers and you're all set.
