Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how replace the air deflector on this 1996 Chevy Tahoe. It's the same part and similar process on these Tahoe from 1995 to 2000. The items you'll need for this repair include a new air deflector from 1AAuto.com, a 10mm socket and ratchet, and a flat blade screwdriver.
On the back of your air deflector, you'll see these series of 10mm bolts. You want to just go ahead and remove all of those. We'll just fast-forward as Don does this. Once all of those are removed, you can just pull that deflector forward over those hooks and off.
On the left is the old deflector; on the right is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical, and they'll fit exactly the same.
You just want to swap over these speed nuts here. Just pry it off with a flat blade screwdriver. Then push it into place on your new air deflector. We'll just fast-forward as Don does the rest of these. Sometimes the bolts will break off in those clips, or the clips will get broken, so if you're missing one or two, it's not a big deal. You can just space them out. You could always substitute a nut and bolt in place of them.
Now push your air deflector back up over the hooks and into place. Then just replace those 10mm bolts. You can see he starts with the middle one to kind of hold it into place, and then replaces the rest of them and tightens them up. Once all the bolts have been put back into place and tightened up, you're all set.
We hope this video helps you out. Brought to you by www.1AAuto.com, your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the Internet. Please feel free to call us toll-free, 888-844-3393. We're the company that's here for you on the Internet and in person.
