Hi. I'm Mike Grip. I'm one of the owners of 1AAuto. I want to help you save time and money repairing and maintaining your vehicle. I'm going to use my 20-something years' experience restoring and repairing cars and trucks like this to show you the correct way to install parts from 1aauto.com. The right parts installed correctly; that's going to save you time and money. Thank you and enjoy the video.
In this video we're going to show you how to remove and replace a transfer to your shift motor on this '04 Trailblazer. This vehicle does have the automatic, all wheel drive option and this procedure is the same for many of these Trailblazers, Envoys, Isuzu Ascender, Olds Bravada as well as Sub-97X. The tools you'll need are a 13 millimeter socket with a ratchet and extension, a pair of pliers and that should be about it.
Okay, so the back of the driver's door down underneath the car. Right here is your full drive shift motor. Okay the first thing you're going to want to do is use a pair of needle nose pliers and there's a little pin here that goes through a bracket. Squeeze that and pull your connector off of the bracket. Take the connector, a little tab right here, push down on that one and some and disconnect. Okay, now to remove the actuator itself use a 13 millimeter socket with an extension and a ratchet. I had the benefit of an air ratchet here.
Okay, so I'll just fast forward through this part, which is removing those four bolts that mount the mortar to the transfer case. Now the bolts are out. Hold the motor right down and out. Okay, new motor from 1aauto. Exact same as the old one.
Okay, so you may have saw there, it's a little bit of a struggle just kind of get in the right spot and then get it on to the shaft and now fast forward as I put those four bolts in- and now we have to tighten up with our air ratchet. I'll fast forward a little bit through that.
We're now tightening them to 30 foot pounds. Okay, and then way up here. Connect the connectors and put back on the bracket.
We hope this helps you out. Brought to you by www.1AAuto.com, your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the internet. Please feel free to call us toll-free 888-844-3393. We're the company that's here for you on the internet and in person.
