Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the rear door weather stripping on this 2002 Chevy Suburban. We show you on the passenger side, but the driver's side is the same procedure. The items you'll need for this are new weather stripping from 1aauto.com, a flat blade screwdriver, and wire cutters.
Using your flat blade screwdriver, pry up this panel and set it aside. Lift up the weather stripping at the seam and start pulling it out from around the door.
On the left, is the old weather stripping. On the right, is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see it's identical and it's going to fit exactly the same. Start pushing the weather stripping down around the seam and then use your flat blade screwdriver to pry back the panel while you tuck it in behind it. We'll fast forward as Don does this. When you get to this handle it gets a little more difficult. The handle's on there pretty good so what you have to do is pull back as far as you can on the handle, while pushing the weather stripping in underneath and just keep feeding it underneath until you get it to push in. When it does finally push in, you'll both feel and hear it go into place. Now that he's got it started we're going to fast forward as he does the rest of it and continue to fast forward as he goes down around the panel here and down to the bottom. You're going to have a little bit of extra most likely. Use some wire cutters to cut that extra off. Then push that end down into place.
Some of the clips from this panel may have stayed in here and the best way to remove them is to push them down through the slot and then push them out the other side. Set them aside and if they get bent just open them back up again with the flat blade screwdriver and then you want to push them onto these tabs. Once they're all back into place just push that panel back down and you're all set.

This weatherstripping is for my driver side door on a 2000 GMC Sierra 3 door. I was getting moisture under my floor mat on driver side. This help out, but I found Im getting water coming in from a rubber boot cover going from my door to the cab of the truck.

Quality of this door weather seal is good. As for fit I think the material is to thick, I cant get the door to shut without slamming it shut if you dont the door pops open.
This weatherstrip works!

I have a 05 Suburban that had bad wind noise on the passenger side. This fit perfectly and only took a few minutes to install using a wide screwdriver. The worst part of install was near the dashboard but once the top started the rest went in nicely. The only problem I have is I should have gotten the driver side as well. Since the passenger wind noise is gone I can now hear slight wind noise on driver side which was masked by the passenger side din. Buying as a pair would have saved me 20 bucks.

I like the product. And fast shipping. But one of the rubber weatherstrippings that I ordered was the wrong size or shorter than it should.

Customer Q&A
Will one p/n#1AWSD00431 do one truck or one door, and will this part fit a 3 door (RH) truck - extended cab? Thank youMay 14, 2017

A quantity of 1 for 1AWSD00431 will complete one door, and is body mounted. This will fit the front door on a regular cab or crew cab, not the extended cab.
