Remove the sound baffle. This is held on by two 7-millimeter screws—there's one under here and one over here, so we use my 7-millimeter ratchet and socket and start removing them. With the two 7-millimeter screws removed, there's a hidden one behind the console here. This sound cover has a lot of flex in it, so I'm just going to pull it down and just leave it like that. I can access the blower motor right here. There are no screws holding this blower motor in. There is a locking tab right here. I'm going to pull this tab down, and with the other hand, do my best to pull it down, it's a bit stiff. With my other hand, I'm going to turn the blower motor clockwise to unlock it, and it's going to pull out.
Now that I can get to the connector which is on the backside, I'm going to spin it around. I'm going to take a wide flat-bladed screwdriver to help me push in this lock. It's pretty hard to push with your fingers, so it's easier to just take a wide flat-bladed screwdriver to push it down and then sort of wiggle the plug out. Now we can remove the blower motor from the car.
Okay, we're going to use our old blower motor because it's working fine. We just wanted to show you how to remove it and reinstall it. I'm going to take the connector now, plug it back in. With this tab facing the front of the vehicle towards the firewall, you're going to lift it back into place. Turn it a little bit, it's going to seat, and then you're going to turn it counterclockwise. It's going to lock in. Now it's installed.
Push our plastic sound cover back up. A couple of ducts to fit over here. Install our 7-millimeter self-tapping screws. I'm going to use my fingers to tighten these, until I feel them stop. I'm going to just use my fingers, just as it gets tight, and stop.

Fan came with the wrong size fan cage
Peter
September 3, 2017
Quite disappointed in 1A, I've never had a problem before. The assembly came with a fan cage too big to fit in the housing. I wasn't going to send the part back and be with out AC for a couple of weeks, so I was forced to use the old fan cage on the new motor. I kept the motor and threw the new fan cage away.
My only other issue with 1A in the past, is you quite often can't get some of the small supporting parts, special clips, brackets or the like.
It's not quiet

The blower motor is noisy but it works. It makes a whining noise while it's on, sounds like a rotary sander.

Exactly what I ordered. As it turned out I needed a resistor not the fan. Return was accepted without any hassles. Great to work with and the videos were very helpful.

Well, the air conditioner in my 98 Suburban quit in typical Texas Summer temps hovering around 105 degrees.
Took the issue to a nationally known repair vendor who will remain unnamed; pronounced the the problem "fan and resistor".
"How much to fix it?" one inquired.
"$850", the 19-year-old peckerwood replied brightly.
I withdrew, went home, got on line and found 1A Auto and instructions on how to install units on 1A's YouTube video; ordered parts for something around $200 from said 1A Auto, and had installation done in less than an hour.
Am cool thanks to 1A, and richer by more than $600, and delighted to beat MM&J's little peckerwood out of taking advantage of this superannuated pilgrim who was not born yesterday.
Thank you 1A.
Your service is exceptional and more than appreciated.
Always,
Larry

Everything looked great but the motor didn't fit perfectly. It was a touch too big. I ended up getting mad until I heard it snap in (not a good thing). The OD was just a touch bigger than the ID of the hole for the blower motor. Once I "broke" it in then everything worked great. Fixed my problem.
Perfect

Replacement Blower Motor. It Works Great
Grant
February 5, 2024
My 08 Tahoe blower motor stopped working one day all at once. I ordered this blower and popped it in and it works perfectly now. It was a little more difficult to rotate this unit back into position, but eventually I got it to cooperate.
Per one of the 1A Auto installation vids for this blower motor, it was recommended that the resister...that module next to the blower motor under the dash that controls the fan speed and works in tandem with the blower motor, be changed out as well because if one or the other is bad they can possibly damage the other. They are both relatively cheap so I change both at the same time.
Good stuff from these folks. They have helped me with my Chevy parts needs many times now, and each part has been great.
Very easy install, much tighter fit than factory. Only downside is that the blower is slightly weaker than factory. But still moves air effectively. Would buy again.

This part was exactly as described! It matched the original. HVAC blowers and acorns do not mix well together. Thanks for the video tutorial as well. I will definitely shop 1A Auto again and again as needed.

Worked Perfectly. Chose 1A because of your helpful videos on YouTube, could have saved a lot elsewhere, but the videos are great, and your mechanics present the info professionally, not some moron beating his chest. Did the resistor, connector clip, and blower. Attached photos. I colored mail return address labels to color code the connector wires, then used Wago connectors and gel boxes as I think the root of the problem is condensation/oxidation. Wago's are good to 32 Amps, so should be O.K. Expensive, but a lot easier to install vs soldering and heat shrink. Would welcome your thoughts. 1A will be my go-to for parts going forward.
