Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the blower motor in this 2005 GMC Savana 2500. It's the same process in the Savanas from 1996 to 2008, as well as the Chevy Expresses. You'll need a 10mm socket, a 7/32 socket, a ratchet, and a small flat blade screwdriver.
Here is the blower motor. To get to it, what we need to do is remove this reservoir bottle by removing the 10mm bolt that secures it. Once the bolt is removed, you just pull it forward, up and out, and just set it aside. Now, to disconnect the blower motor, just press that tab with a small screwdriver, pull the harness out, and then pull that hose out. Then, on the blower motor, there are four 7/32 bolts all the way around. We'll just fast-forward as he removes these. With those bolts removed, you can just pull the blower motor right out.
Now, take your new blower motor, line up those circular tabs, and then you want to replace your four 7/32 screws. We'll just fast-forward as he replaces the rest of those, and tightens them with the socket and ratchet. The next thing you want to do, push that connector back in and reconnect that hose. Then you want to put in your reservoir bottle. Just push that in, and replace that 10mm bolt.

Noisy cabin fan: no more!
Paul
January 31, 2017
I cannot believe I waited so long to change the fan in my Chevrolet Express. I thought access was complicated, as the noise seemed to come from the dashboard. I thought is would be a costly professional repair. Viewing the video made it clear this was a very simple low cost replacement anybody can do in less than 10 minutes, as access is from the front.
