This is the cats meow for a fix on my GMC Truck 1999 2500. The key lock was stuck and I had to bang on the key lock to get it to turn and even then on start the thing would just click and the starter would not engage. I changed out the starter and still no remedy. Then I changed out the key lock and now the truck starts and runs like new. You folks are great. Thanks for the fix.
Good deal

Very satisfied with the part for fit and construction, the only knock is the keys are "sticky" during the withdrawal from the cylinder.

Customer Q&A
How do get the ignition key to work the door lock cylinders also?

You may be able to take the door lock cylinders to a locksmith and they can reconfigure them to the new key. I still had the old keys and just use the old keys to lock and unlock the doors.

Every key switch has its own key and you cant use it in the door lock you will need to keep using the old key for the door. you would need to have a locksmith rekey the door lock.

If you can locate the dealer who sold it they may have the key code on file otherwise you will need a locksmith who can do automotive locks.

Yes you can. The key mechanism must be broken in a manner that allows you to use a flathead screwdriver to turn it. Much like a car thief would do on the older cars to start them.

My lock cylinder was removed since someone tried to steal my truck. I am replacing it with this one that comes with a key. Will i need to program it ? Or is there anything else needed to be done once i install it ?

Thank you for your inquiry. These will not need to be programmed as it comes with a key that is correct for the cylinder. As long as this is listed to fit your vehicle you can simply install the part and it will function correctly. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thank you for the inquiry. This should be able to be installed as is and replace the faulty lock cylinder in your vehicle without any other modifications. The keys that come with this will have to be used to start the vehicle. If you have any additional questions please let us know.

If when installed and it doesn't start the vehicle , then a relearn procedure has to be performed. Gogle relearn procedure for the year and make of the vehicle
