Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the A pillar in this Dodge Ram. This is a 2008, but the procedure is the same for 2006 to 2008. You'll need a new A pillar from 1AAuto.com, a 90 degree pick, and a 10mm socket, ratchet with an extension.
To remove the A pillar, use a small hook pick to release the covers for the bolts. Using a 10mm socket and ratchet, remove the two bolts. Pop the A pillar out and release it from the dash.
See, we have the same tabs to lock in behind the dashboard. Same holes for the 10mm bolts as well as new covers included with the new A pillar. We have some sound deadening material inside as well as new clips for the upper portion of the A pillar and an alignment pin.
You can see our old part has some burns, and cuts, and scratches if you look at it against our new part from 1A. See, nice bright color where this is kind faded and dirty, damaged. We're going to go ahead and replace it. This new part from 1A Auto is going to go in direct fit just like the original piece.
We're going to install the bottom of the A pillar into the dash. Line up the top of the pillar. Make sure that your door is seal, weatherstrip is over the A pillar before snapping the clips into place.
We're going to install your two 10mm bolts. You may have to tilt your stirring column down to make it easier to line the bolts up. Pop the covers back into place.
Thanks for tuning in. We hope this video helped you out. Next time you need parts for your car, please visit 1AAuto.com. Also check out our other helpful how-to and diagnosis videos.
