Brought to you by 1AAuto.com, your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the internet. Hi, I'm Mike Green. I'm one of the owners of 1A Auto. I want to help you save time and money repairing and maintaining your vehicle. I'm going to use my 20-plus years experience restoring and repairing cars and trucks like this to show you the correct way to install parts from 1AAuto.com. The right parts installed correctly. That's going to save you time and money. Thank you and enjoy the video.
Okay, so a headlight on Ford F150, if you're looking to either just change the bulbs or change the headlight out itself, all you're going to need is a Phillips screwdriver, and a 10-millimeter socket and handle or ratchet or a wrench.
I'm going to start. There's a little pin right here. I'm just going to back out the screw a little bit very lightly, so if you press on it at all it'll actually push it. There is the pin, and then you just pull this shield up. Here are two 10-millimeter screws. I'll remove those. Use my handy tray here. Holds the bolts right in, and there is one screw up on top here. Then this little clip, you pull up with your finger and you can see the headlight just slid forward just a little bit, and then you want to grab it in behind here and give it a good pull. When you're pulling the headlight, there is a little clip right here and that goes into the slot there. When you're going to have to pull, you're basically pulling that clip out of that slot.
Now, in behind, you can see here is your signal light. This is your headlight and there's kind of ears right here. Twist, pull that out, and then here's your side marker light and then you twist. Twist it one way or the other. It's just being a little angry. There's your side marker. The headlight is out of the car. Obviously re-installation is just the reverse. Put the lights in and twist, and the headlight in, again, twist. Then put the signal light in here and twist. Get the light into position and then push. That tab should lock down. Put your three bolts back in, and make sure you push the flap in underneath on the radiator bezel there. Push that down in. Take your little screw kind of thing and just push it in to lock it and you're all set.

Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to service the bulbs as well as replace the entire headlight assemblies on this 2005 Ford F150. We show you on the driver side but the passenger side is the same procedure. The items you'll need for this are new headlights from 1AAuto.com, Phillips screwdriver, and a 10mm socket and ratchet.
Pull the latch to pop the hood. Then reach down underneath the grille and just push this lever towards the driver side and your hood will lift up. Twist out the center of this Phillips clip. Once you get it most of the way out, you can just lift that cover out of the way. Then remove this 10mm bolt, this 10mm bolt, and this one right here. We'll fast forward as Mike does that. Now lift up on the bottom of the headlight and then lift up on this tab and pull the headlight out. Push the tab on each of the harnesses to disconnect them.
To service the bulbs you just twist out the socket counterclockwise, pull the bulb out, push your new one in, and twist the socket back in clockwise. This one's the same procedure only the entire assembly is the bulb. You just twist it counterclockwise, take your new one, and twist it clockwise into place. Then this one down here is similar to the first one we showed you where you just twist it out, pull your bulb out, push your new one in, and twist it back into place.
On the left is the old headlight assembly. On the right is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical and they'll fit exactly the same. Reconnect the harnesses to your new headlight. Push this lineup pin back into that hole. Just push back until it snaps into place. Then replace those three 10mm bolts and tighten them up. Remove the center of the clip. Then just tuck that cover back into place, push the clip back down and in, and then take the center and push that down in.
Just to show you the difference new headlights can make, here are the old headlights and here are the new ones. You can see it makes the truck look a lot younger and a lot newer. Again, here's the old and new.
