Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the blower motor on this 2005 Ford F150. It's the same part and similar process on these F150s from 2004 to 2008. The items you'll need for this is a new blower motor from 1AAuto.com and an 8 millimeter socket and ratchet.
Your blower motor is located right here. It's held in with these three 8 millimeter bolts. Then disconnect the harness by pulling down on the tab and pushing it off. Then use an 8 millimeter wrench or a socket and ratchet to remove those three 8 millimeter bolts. Once those are removed, just pull the blower motor down as far as you can and then pull back the carpeting, and just maneuver it down and out and over the carpeting.
On the left is the new blower motor from 1AAuto.com. On the right is the old one. You can see they're identical, and they'll fit exactly the same. Take your new blower motor and feed it up into place. You push it in against the carpet as much as you can. Once you get to a certain point, you'll want to pull the carpet back to give yourself a little bit extra room. Then just kind of push it into the insulation and up at the same time, and it'll go into place. Then turn it once you get it up in place so that the holes line up.
Once you get it lined up, just replace those bolts and tighten them up. If you want to speed up the process of tightening them up, you can use an air ratchet, but you want to make sure that you don't over-tighten them, so just tighten them most of the way, and then tighten them the rest of the way using your socket and ratchet. You just want them hand tight. Reconnect your harness.

Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the blower motor resistor on this 2005 Ford F150. It's the same part and similar process on these F150s from 2004 to 2010. The items you'll need for this is new blower motor resistor from 1AAuto.com and an 8 millimeter socket and ratchet.
Open up your glove box and just push in on the passenger's side and pull it down. Now, push the tab on the bottom of this harness and then just pull it free. Then remove these two 8 millimeter bolts. We'll fast forward as Mike does that. You can use an air ratchet for this, just to speed up the process. Once you remove the bolts, it pulls right out. Then, you just want to pull off this gasket as well.
On the left is the old blower motor resistor. On the right is the new one from 1AAuto. You can see they're identical and they'll fit exactly the same. Make sure the gasket's in place, and then feed your blower motor resistor back into place. Then, replace those two 8 millimeter bolts by hand. One corner is notched and there's a tab in it, so you can only put it in one way. Tighten up the bolts, careful not to over-tighten them. You don't want to strip out the plastic. Reconnect your harness and then push in the side of your glove box and close it.

blower motor resistor
donald
April 14, 2019
i ordered a blower motor resistor for my 2006 f-150. when i placed the resistor in my truck it did not work at all! i had no blower function at all whereas with my original resistor i had high speed only which is a classic indication of resistor failure. i called 1A auto and they said "no problem" we'll send you another one! which should have alerted me that perhaps this was a very cheap inferior product. i recieved the second resistor and had the same problem. no blower function. i then spent the money for the oem part installed it and have had no problem with the blower since. lesson learned.
Worked for one day

The product came and worked for one day and the next day it smoked. It was my first ever purchase from 1aauto and don't think I'll be making another one.
Worked for TWO days!

There seems to be a recurring theme here. Diagnosed the fault, this should have been the solution. Maybe too good to be true as it was quite less that the ford OEM part. Replacement was very easy to install however, it lasted only TWO days. Now I am back to full fan all the time. Quality part, I don't think so. I was about to order some steering parts, but definitely second guessing now. 0/5 stars
