Nice OEM Works well, just have to get to the place to install it by taking the steering column apart. Too busy to do that quickly right now on my daily driver, so I hired it out.

Customer Q&A
Is this the part that runs the starter switch?

IT is the part that connects the key switch to the starter switch. If it is broken the car will not start and the ignition switch will have no spring g in it.

We do not have an installation video for this particular item but forums will be able to better assist you. The progress is a bit long and involved so we recommend contacting a mechanic or referring to a specific manual for this installation.

Remove the steering wheel and then the steering column from the truck and put the column in a vise. Be careful not to unwind the clock spring, or if you do be sure to center it during re-assembly. Remove the shifter from the column. Turn the key to the run position and remove the lock cylinder by pressing the button in the hole underneath. Behind the the ignition switch is a retainer before you remove it make a note or snap a picture of the position of where the existing actuator lines up. Remove the little gear and the broken actuator. Installing the new actuator is a tight fit. Sometimes it is necessary to trim the new one a little to make the edge of it slide in. Sometimes you might need to loosen the steering shaft from the column to allow a little extra room to slip in the actuator from the bottom. I hope that is helpful. DB

In my 97 ranger, this resolved the key switch turning freely without actuating anything inside the steering column - would spin 360 degrees. Unsure what other symptoms there could be.
