Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to service the bulbs as well as replace the taillight circuit board on this 2003 GMC Envoy XL. It's the same part and similar process on the regular Envoys made after 2002. We show you on the passenger side, but the driver side is the same procedure. The items you'll need for this include a new taillight circuit board from 1AAuto.com and a Phillips screwdriver.
Start off by opening your lift gate and removing these two Phillips screws on the inside of the taillight. Pull the taillight out, tilt it back, push the tab on this harness, and disconnect it.
To remove the circuit board to get to the bulbs, remove these three Phillips screws. To service the bulbs, pull the plate out, pull the bulb straight out, and push your new bulb into place. These two are the same process.
If you're looking to replace the taillight circuit board, you can see on the left is the old one; on the right is the new one from 1A Auto. They're identical. All you have to do is swap over the bulbs.
Push the taillight circuit board into the taillight and replace those three Phillips screws. You can see there are two holes here. They should have clips in them. One of them does. One of them's missing. Sometimes they come out with the taillight. Just pull them off that pin on the taillight and push the clip back into place.
Line up these two pins. Push them into those holes. First, reconnect your harness, then push the taillight back into place. Replace those two Phillips screws. You're all set.
