Hi, I’m Mike from 1A Auto. We’ve been selling auto parts for over 30 years!
You raise the supported vehicle. The crank position sensor is located here in front of the engine down low. You can kind of reach this from the top. It's definitely easier to see it from the bottom here. So there's a rubber boot on the connector and there's a lock. We're going to push in through the rubber boot. Some chains. Kind of hear it click as it comes off so you're pushing in.
It actually says push on the side that you need to push in on. We'll push that aside and remove that 10 millimeter bolt that's up there. Pull the sensor out. Looks pretty rusty. I'll get up there with the 10 millimeter socket and ratchet and a short extension. Get the bolt loose. I'm just going to reach up with my fingers and finish removing it. Takes some meat on those pliers and just carefully kind of work this back and forth. I grab the outside of it, not the connector.
There's a rubber o-ring that seals. It's a really tight seal and you just have to get it over that seal. Once it comes off that seal, it should slide right out. Once you get it over the seal, you just kind of have to work it out, and it'll eventually come out. It's just really tight against the seal and just through heat and age, it gets stuck in there.
This is the original one for vehicle. See it damages from us removing it. This is a brand new one from 1AAuto.com. Similar design, same mounting hole, o ring, same style connector. This will fit great and work great in the vehicle.
I'll reinstall the new one. Push it right in the same opening. Align it up in the mounted hole, and install the bolt. Use a socket and extension for just threading it in. That's pretty tight. Now we're going to use the ratchet to go the rest of the way in. And I'll just bring it down until I feel like it's tight, and I'll stop. Reconnect the auto connector. You can't really hear it click because of the rubber, kind of dampened it, but is locked on there. Sensor's installed.
