Hi, I’m Mike from 1A Auto. We’ve been selling auto parts for over 30 years!
To remove the Mass Air Flow Sensor, there's two Phillips head screws in the top. This one is underneath this cover. It's a little tricky to get to, so it's going to be easier as I am going to unplug this little harness from the airbox, unplug the Mass Air Meter, and pull the whole airbox cover out. Then I can work on it on the bench.
So push in this tab here to unlock it; push it forward—just pull it up. Same for this one. Pull that out of the way, unlock the Mass Air Meter, push down like that, and pull it off. You can lay that aside. You can undo the locks here. Lift this cover up and pull it right out of this tube here. Now we can take this off on the bench.
To remove this Mass Air Meter from the airbox cover, use a Phillips head screwdriver. Remove these screws, and lift it straight out.
Here's our old Mass Air Flow Meter, and our brand new one from 1AAuto.com. It has the same style connector and same two mounting screw holes. This should fit in the airbox and work great for you.
Install the new one. It has alignment tabs here and here that match up with here and here, so you can't install it this way. It won't sit down and the screw holes don't line up. Make sure you install it the correct orientation. It will sit like that and then the screw holes will line up perfectly.
Reinstall these. Tighten these down evenly. This is ready to go back in the car. So this tab here on the airbox cover needs to go under here. Our air filter is still in place, we didn't move it, so I'm going to just push this in. Slide it straight back, be sure it's gone onto that accordion. It should fit down nice and solid. Put the locks back up.
Place our harness back on top, and just push it down. It fits kind of loosely in place and reinstall the connector and that will snap on. The mass air flow meter is replaced.
