Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the blower motor resistor. This is a 2003 Honda Civic, and it's the same for 2001 to 2005, as well as other Honda models. You'll need a new blower motor resistor from 1AAuto.com, and a small Phillips screwdriver.
The blower motor resistor is located under the center of the passenger side dashboard. Remove the connector on the blower motor resistor. Remove the two Phillips head screws. Remove the blower motor resistor from the housing.
Here, we have our old part from the vehicle, and our new part from 1A Auto. You can see we have the same size part, same heat sinks. It's the exact same sized casing on the new part, so it's going to seal into your HVAC box, just like the factory piece did. What your blower motor resistor does is it changes how much power gets to the fan for your blower motor, which is how you get your variable fan speeds.
Some common symptoms of one of these going bad are certain fan speeds not working. If you lose number one, but two, three, and four still work, or one and two, and three and four still work, your blower motor resistor could be the cause.
As you can see, the new part from 1A Auto is going to bolt right in just like your original piece, direct fit, and fix you upright.
Reinstall your blower motor resistor into the box, the four pin connector, as the tab to lock in faces down. Install your two Phillips head screws. Use your stubby Phillips head screwdriver to put them back in tight. Reinstall your connector.
Thanks for tuning in. We hope this video helped you out. Next time you need parts for your car, please visit 1AAuto.com. Also check out our other helpful how-to and diagnosis videos.

First class service and great prices. Did I mention free shipping? My order was shipped the next day. However, after installing the new module, it failed after three days. 1A Auto sent me a new one and did not require return of the failed module. Very happy with their service and will use them again.

The part was a perfect fit and there were no issues. I'm glad it was the old resistor that was preventing my heater blower from working. This new one works like a charm. It came packaged in plastic and small enough for the mailbox.
Perfect

A/C in my 2003 Honda civic would not stop blowing even when switched to the off position. After some digging I found this part had gone bad in my car. Ordered this one from A1 auto, it fit perfectly fine and my a/c started working normally again. Thank you A1 for the quality part ????!
