Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we show you how to replace the headlight assembly on this 2006 Jeep Liberty, and it's the same part and process on these Liberties from 2005 to 2007. The items you'll need for this are a new headlight assembly from 1AAuto.com, a 10mm socket and ratchet, and a Phillips screwdriver.
Start off by pulling up on the clip over the headlight. There's a series of these, just pull them up. You may have to push the grill in and then pull them up. Once you've done all six of them, just tilt the grill forward, and lift it up and out.
Next, you want to remove these two 10mm bolts, and we'll fast forward as Don does this. Once those are removed, pull the headlight out. To disconnect this harness, you just push on the tab and you pull it straight out.
If you're going to service the bulb, you would just turn that ring off, pull the socket right out, put your new one into place, twist the ring back on, and reconnect your harness.
On the left is the new one from 1A Auto, on the right is the old headlight. You can see they're identical, and they'll mount exactly the same. Plug in your new headlight, and push this tab into this hole right here, and just push your light back into place. We'll fast forward as Don replaces those two 10mm bolts.
Line up these five tabs with the four holes, and just push them down into place. Push your grill forward, and re-clip those clips along the top.
Here are the original headlights, here's the new ones from 1A Auto. You can see it makes the vehicle look a lot younger, a lot better. Again, here's the old headlights and the new headlights. Now, if you need to adjust the up and down angle of your headlights, you just go through this hole here, and you want to just tighten or loosen this Phillips screw. That will adjust the angle.
