My 2001 Xterra sending unit, fuel pump just stopped working due to corrosion at the elec. connection so I needed a replacement quickly and 1Aauto had the OEM Nissan sending unit which fit perfectly and was very easy to install and got my Xterra running smoothly. ????

This would appear to be correct without knowing what your vehicle is. This will come with a fuel level sensor which will communicate to the needle in the cluster

Does this fit cause nissan and oriellys told me there are 2 different ones for same yr make and model and that there is no way of knowing without taking off old one and that they are not interchangeable?

This part fits all 2000-2004 Nissan Xterra's. For the Frontier, it fits all 2002-2004 with the V6 3.3L engine only.
